Step 2:
Why we focus on our problems and worry...
This whole process of worrying and dwelling on our problems starts from birth, when we are over protected and sheltered which then instills and programs in us that we are fragile and incapable. When in reality, we are our purest at birth, untainted and perfect with our own inner guidance…. Or should I say…. The cleanest and closest to “whom” and “what” we truly are. When we are over clothed in winter, this gives us the message that we are fragile and need to be protected. And as we grow the message we receive is not to trust in ourselves and others. So we grow acting and believing we are incapable. It’s instilled in us that we are not safe… that we don’t know any better. The messages we receive as a child is programmed in our subconscious mind with the message that we are weak and vulnerable. As a child we see and hear our parents worry and fear for us; whether it is for our health or safety.
That sends us the message that we are in danger….that we are unable to cope with danger in our lives. When our parents worry about our health… again! That sends a message that we are weak and fragile and that it’s something to worry about. If one thinks about it….in other countries in the world or even here in this country for that matter…children are playing outside in the snow with just a shirt and shorts and don’t get sick… they get less sick than the children that are well clothed. The message is different for each child… for one is that he/she is fragile and in danger/vulnerable….the other is that he is strong and has vitality….that their body’s are capable of building their own heat….that they have the power within to protect themselves and don’t need external protection to do that. We are also taught that we are vulnerable from people…that we should not trust people… that we shouldn’t speak to strangers… that they will harm you… that they will hurt you emotionally… you’ve seen this and got this message when you seen your parents fighting/arguing with each other and others….hurting themselves emotionally. So then this made you create a shell around yourself and to be defensive.
We are also instilled with the programming/message that we don’t know what is best for us. That we don’t have the knowledge or intelligence to know how to live our lives…and AGAIN! What is best for us? We get this message when we are told we don’t know what to eat, or how much to eat, or when to eat… by then telling us how much to eat, and when to eat, and what to eat. We all actually have an inner guidance and it is destroyed by this programming. We were told how to dress which gives us the message that we don’t know how to dress… we were told how to do everything which again is sending us a message that we don’t know anything which again is destroying that inner guidance that we all have.
We then start looking outward for answers on how to be healthy, happy, fulfilled and how to live our lives etc. And as we get into our teens a lot of us are told things like …. We’ll never amount to any thing, your worthless, you’ll never be a good husband/wife, you’ll never get a job, your not responsible, life is hard, money is hard to come by etc. this programming doesn’t just come from our parents… it comes from society, people we know, government, religion, the news etc. All of this programming makes us dependant, vulnerable, weak /worrisome, and not trusting etc.….when all of this time we all have our own inner guidance… we are truly a special miraculous creation, but it’s all destroyed by the programming that we have had since birth to adulthood.
